2010 Linebacker Jordan Hicks Narrows Down to Six
Jordan Hicks is a 6’2” 220lbs linebacker from Lakota West High School in West Chester Ohio outside of Cincinnati. Hicks not only has the intangibles every college coach is looking for in an outside linebacker but he also plays the game at full speed and with full impact. This combination of ability and skill has led him to the #1 spot among outside linebackers nationally with a number of recruiting services.

With over 20 offers from most of the top programs in the country, Hicks recently reduced his list down to six finalists for his college commitment. Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, Texas and USC are the schools he has selected. That is quite a list of programs. The in-state Buckeyes would love to get Hicks into their class and have secured a visit on September 12th when they play USC in Ohio Stadium. Another early visit for Hicks is Texas on the 10th of October.
Hicks felt at the time he reduced the list of schools down from 15 that there wasn’t much separating those that made the list and those that were dropped. All had great coaches and winning traditions. Some of the big names to make the cut included LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Stanford and Wisconsin.
When speaking of Ohio State, Hicks feels he has a comfort level with the coaching staff as he has visited the campus more often than the others on his final six list. But Texas might have an advantage as Hicks has always loved the Longhorn football program. And his loved increased recently on an unofficial visit when he got to see the campus and meet the coaches. This will be a tight race down to the finish for one lucky school.
