Ohio State Brining In Two Big Names From Florida When Ohio State suits up against USC on September 11th the stadium will be full with past players and future Buckeye players including two highly regarded Florida prospects. Chaz Green from Tampa Catholic along with Lamarcus Joyner from St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida will be on hand to see the campus and watch the game from the sidelines. By Steve Patterson The Ohio State vs. USC game has more than National Championship implications, it could also sway a number of 2010 prospects to select Ohio State as their college destination. Such a popular game, in the Horseshow at night, on Prime Time television, and with such importance is a great stage to show what your team can do on the field and demonstrate what your program has to offer in addition to football to some of the biggest high school targets. Coach Tressel and his staff are hoping Chaz Green, a 6’6” 290lbs offensive lineman, likes what he sees when he makes a visit the 2nd weekend of the football season. From Tampa Florida, Green is the 9th best offensive lineman in the country according to Rivals.com. He currently favors the Florida Gators but Ohio State is getting his first visit. He also plans to visit USC and Florida at later dates. Another Florida recruit visiting on the 11th of September is Lamarcus Joyner. Joyner comes from the same high school as current Buckeye Duron Carter. NFL Hall of Famer Chris Carter is a coach at the High School and an Ohio State alumnus. Joyner is the second best cornerback in the country according to recruiting services. He currently has Florida State and Ohio State as his two favorite college programs. He has no other visits planned at this time. Ohio State would love to get Joyner to take over one of the cornerback positions left vacant when Andre Amos graduates or if Chimdi Chekwa leaves early for the NFL. |
