Tyrone Williams Would make Two Wide Receivers for 2010 Ohio State recently picked up a verbal commitment from Delray Beach wide receiver James Louis and has now zeroed in on a bigger receiver from close by Shaw High School in East Cleveland, Tyrone Williams. Williams will be the 2nd receiver in the class if he does select his overall favorite college, Ohio State. By Steve Patterson Williams is a big target at 6’6” and 220 lbs but he has speed to match. Running a 4.5 40, Williams was able to turn 11 catches into 8 touchdowns during his junior season at East Cleveland Shaw. He would have had even more production if not for an ACL tear that ended his season after 5 games. But the production he did have has made him the 8th best recruit in the Ohio 2010 class in addition to receiving a number of good scholarship offers. His current favorite college is Ohio State as he is familiar with their cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson who has been recruiting him. Other schools have made scholarship offers in addition to the Buckeyes including Cincinnati, West Virginia, Illinois, Kansas and Louisville to name a few. He is hoping for offers from Michigan State, USC, and Florida as he has received interest from all three programs. Williams, who reports to be 100% recovered from the knee injury, is planning a trip to Columbus to get to know Head Coach Jim Tressel better and to also meet Terrelle Pryor. Pryor will be a junior at OSU in 2010 and would be making passes to Williams his freshman year if he selects the Buckeyes for his college destination. |
