Ohio State football recruiting is picking up with the announcement that Urban Meyer is going to be taking over as head coach next season. Just this past week 3 star wide receiver prospect from Lakeland Florida, Ricquan Southward, switched his verbal commitment from Miami (FL) to Ohio State. He made the 2012 class of OSU a 16 recruit class that is expected to grow bigger as National of Intent letter signing day approaches.
Southward likes the academics at Ohio State and hopes to have a great career on the football field. His final decision came after a visit to Columbus were he was able to meet many of the people within the program. He found the atmosphere comfortable and something he would fit in nicely with. He bonded with the team well and liked the family atmosphere.
He has been a Gator fan most of his life and the prospect of playing for Urban Meyer is enticing. He will be the fourth receiver in the 2012 class which will add a good amount of depth to a young receiving corp.
