QB Burton is not going to let pressure get in the way of winning

Trey Burton knows he has a long way to go to have a chance at the starting job as the Gators’ quarterback. Burton, who verbally committed to Florida last fall, is well aware of who is in front of him. John Brantley is this seasons backup and is slated to take Tim Tebow’s as the starter. Freshman Jordan Reed will be this years third stringer.

So as the quarterback wheel grinds up above in Gainesville, the 6-foot-3 205 pound senior is not going to let his Gator future get in the way of his task for this year, which is to win a state title. Last season, Burton led Venice High School to an 11-1 record while throwing for 1,699 yards with 19 TD’s and 1,173 yards and 28 TD’s on the ground. The Indians made it to the Class 5A regional semifinals last year but lost to Punta Gorda Charlotte.
