Friday Night Lights influences Brown's decision

The University of Florida hosted it's Friday Night Lights football camp on July 24th at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The interaction between the almost 200 hopeful signees and coach Urban Meyer was the deciding figure in running back Mack Brown’s decision to verbally commit to the Gators.

The 5-foot-11, 185 pound running back from Lithonia (Ga.) Martin Luther King High School, is coming off a junior year in which he rushed for 1,712 yards and 21 TD’s in 11 games.  The notable four star recruit is ranked as the No.6 running back in the country and No. 56 player overall by Rivals.com.

Aside from offers from the likes of Oklahoma, Michigan, and Alabama, Brown was struggling with the decision of whether or not to choose Florida or Georgia.  Brown noted that several of his friends have made commitments to the Bulldogs but he had to “follow his heart”, leading him to his decision to want to become a Gator.
