Warren Ball St Francis DeSales 2012
Warren Ball from St Francis DeSales in Columbus, Ohio is one of the best running backs in the 2012 recruiting class nationally. Committed to Ohio State early in September, Ball joined a class that has just begun to form and now stands at four class members. At 6’2” and 200 lbs, Ball demonstrated great running ability and pass catching skills for a running back at Ohio State’s summer camp which earned him a scholarship offer. He will be a welcomed addition to the Buckeyes when he arrives in 2012, a school that is known for big running backs in the Beanie Wells mold.

Ball is often compared to Maurice Clarett for his speed and vision with the ball in his hands. He has the lower body strength needed to be a power runner in the Big 10 but also has the hands and size of the wide receiver. He will have to learn to pass block and read blitzing linebackers at the college level. Rivals.com feels that he is a 4 star prospect and a top 100 prospect nationally.
Ball excels in the classroom with a 4.0 GPA at a College Prep high school. He is looking for academic quality at Ohio State in addition to the opportunities that he will have on the football field. He wants to be a member of the college of engineering when he enrolls at OSU.
Ball joins the Buckeye 2012 class that also features running back Bri-onte Dunn, offensive lineman Kyle Kalis and linebacker Josh Perry. The class should be on the small side, totaling around 14 members when complete in February of 2012.
