2011 OLB Conner Crowell from Waldorf North Point Conner Crowell is a physical outside linebacker from Waldorf Maryland with over 10 top college offers already in hand for the 2011 season. At 6’1”, 215 lbs and 4.5 speed, Crowell is the ideal size for a college line backing recruit. As a junior in 2009, he had 100 tackles and 4 interceptions at North Point High School where he also played tailback. By Steve Patterson We asked Crowell about his athletic ability and football success in high school. “My speed and flexibility [are my best attributes].” He explained to us. The highlight of his career so far came when he played Westlake this past season. “Being the first time to ever shutout our rivals (Westlake High School) in their history.” He said when we recently contacted him. His full junior season statistics on defense include 100 tackles, 4 sacks, and 3 interceptions. He also scored 8 touchdowns on offense. He is also involved in discus and finished fifth in the state last year. Crowell has already made four college visits to some of the early scholarship offers received. “Maryland; It was nice and very close to home.” “North Carolina; Their Spring game was cool. Their facilities were nice and coaches were cool.” “West Virginia; they had nice facilities and good fans. They are going to be a good team this year. Coaches were cool.” “Ohio state; by far the best fans I’ve seen. Big place to be at and coaches were cool.” He told us what he is looking for in a college and a college football program. “A good education and a successful football program where I can contribute early.” Schools that have made scholarship offers include “Maryland, West Virginia, Duke, UNC, Connecticut, Ohio State, and Hawaii.” He reported. Other schools that have made recent offers include Kansas State, Louisville, Penn State, Rutgers, and Stanford. Penn State is the most recent offer and could be difficult to beat. |
