Kyle Young Commits To Ohio State

KyleYoung

On Monday night, Kyle Young switched his commitment from Butler to Ohio State. Coming out of Massillon Jackson, Young intends to enroll at Ohio State shortly so that he can start working out with the Buckeyes. Head coach, Chris Holtmann precedes Young. Last summer, Holtmann encouraged Young to choose the Bulldogs over Ohio State.

Rated as the No. 77 player in the country, Young is a four-star forward who is hoped to help the Buckeyes basketball team. He stands as 6-foot-8 and is 205 pounds, and joins Andre Wesson and Keita Bates-Diop on the team. Young does play better offense than Funderburk, and is more versatile than Wesson. Wesson was a choice of Holtmann and Butler for the 2016 recruitment, but Ohio State was able to top them.

Just seven Ohio players were signed in this year's recruiting class, but head coach Urban Meyer of Ohio State is out to put added emphasis on his in-state prospects for the 2018 class.

Cleveland Browns Pass Over Ohio State Players In NFL Draft

Terrelle_pryor_2016

The Ohio State players have not had any good luck with the Cleveland Browns when it comes to the NFL Draft. The Cleveland Browns returned to the NFL in 1999 and since then, they have only drafted two (2) Buckeyes.

Since 1999, some 117 Ohio State Buckeyes have been chosen in the NFL draft. This includes Terrelle Pryor who was drafted in the 2011 supplemental draft. Of the 117 Buckeyes, twenty-eight (28) were drafted in the first round. During Urban Meyers' tenure from 2013 to 2016, seven (7) Buckeyes of an overall twenty-six were drafted in the first round.

The two (2) Buckeyes drafted by the Browns were Darnell Sanders and Brian Robiskie. Sanders, who hails from Warrensville Heights, was drafted in 2002 by the Cleveland Browns. Then in 2009, Brian Robiskie from Chagrin Falls, whose father is Terry Robiskie, a former interim coach of the Browns, was drafted. The movie "Draft Day" debuted in 2014 and it highlighted that the Cleveland Browns drafted "Vontae" (which rhymes with Donte) a fictional linebacker as their Number One draft pick.

Ohio State Buckeyes Back In The NFL Combine

NoahBrownNFLCombine

It's that time of year again. The time when the true football fans often get their first peek at what the next crop of potential stars will look like. The scouting combine is a good starting point to see what kind of measurable goods the young men have to offer to possible NFL suitors. The Buckeyes just had their visit with the combine officials and the results are now in. Overall it seems like a successful visit for many of the Buckeyes class at this year's NFL Combine.

Noah Brown, the six foot two 222 pound wide receiver, is a tall strong ox of a pass catcher. The reach is a lengthy 33 1/4 inch reach with quite large hands that has the strength behind it with 19 reps on the bench press. Running a 7 second cone drill and speedy 4.33 second 40 yard dash Brown can help many teams in the league with his size and speed. Brown's durability has been called into question since he suffered a broken leg that left him sidelined for a year. Last year, he did blossom some, but many scouts say they feel he is just starting to scratch the surface of his development due to his injury. His upside is much larger than his potential injury risk. He could easily go to a team like the Patriots, or Packers, but could drop to the second round because of the injury. When asked of his injury Brown returned with the determination of a warrior saying he has just as much to prove as anybody else.
