Tracy Sprinkle Ohio Strong Side Defensive End

We had a chance to ask Tracy Sprinkle a number of questions about his high school career, committing to Ohio State and what other schools were a part of his college recruitment. Ranked 29th at strong side DE nationally, Sprinkle from Elyria Ohio joined the Buckeye 2013 class on 4-17-2012. Ohio State beat out Arkansas, Michigan State, Penn State, Purdue and Indiana along with other top notch schools in the mid-west.

Tracy Sprinkle attributes his 6’4” 245lbs frame along with strength and speed for his ability to dominate on the high school level. “Size, strength, speed and keep a high motor.” he told us about his ability on the field. “The highlight of my career is playing with all my close friends consistently, and receiving my first scholarship.”

He visited two schools before making a commitment to Ohio State. “I visited Ohio State and Michigan State.” He explained. “At MSU, I liked the campus, staff and facilities.” Of course it wasn’t enough to overcome the in-state Buckeyes and their new coaching staff under Urban Meyer.

“In a program, I’m looking for great academics, athletics, and a coaching staff that treats you as family.” He told us about what he was looking for.

Urban Meyer and the rest of the defensive staff at OSU put them over the top according to Sprinkle. “ What I like most about Ohio state is the coaches. They're smart, experienced, enthusiastic and committed to success.”
