Se’von Pittman Switches from Michigan State to Ohio State

After much speculation, Canton McKinley star defensive end Se’von Pittman switched is verbal commitment from Michigan State to Ohio State recently. The 6’5” 240 lbs end is considered the 8th best weakside defensive end in the country for the 2012 class and 3rd best recruit in Ohio this year, according to Rivals.com. He made the move as he heart was with the home state Buckeyes.

Pittman visited Ohio State over the weekend of December 10th and committed to Ohio State after an in-home visit by new OSU head coach Urban Meyer. He got to meet a number of current recruits, players, and coaches on his visit to Columbus. Urban Meyer coming to the Buckeyes was the most important factor in Pittman switching his verbal commitment. Pittman still holds MSU coach Marc Dantonio in high regard and had a difficult time telling him of his change of heart.

Pittman will be joining former McKinley teammate Steve Miller at Ohio State. He also looks forward to playing alongside some of the best defensive line players in the country in Tommy Schutt and Adolphus Washington. Since his commitment, Ohio State has added one more lineman in Noah Spence, making the best d-line class in the country for 2012.
