Buck Allen, Christian Heyward, Aundrey Walker Pick USC We have a few whiffs and three signings to report. First, USC is in receipt of three commitments from prospects: Christian Heyward, defensive tackle from San Diego, Aundrey Walker, offensive lineman from Cleveland, Ohio/Glenville, California/Point Loma and Buck Allen, a running back from Tallahassee, Florida/Lincoln. The signature of Walker amounts to a relatively large recruiting astonishment. The high school that the 355 pound, 6 foot 5 lineman hails from is essentially an Ohio State stronghold, yet he has chosen the Trojans over the Buckeyes. In a Jan. 14 visit to USC along with Lamar Dawson, Walker apparently grew increasingly enamored with the Trojans during the last two weeks. Heyward remained absolutely mum in the days that led up to signing day, but ended up selecting the Trojans over Oregon and San Diego State. When announcing this decision on KUSI-TV live he stated that he will play for the Trojans as either under tackle or defensive end. Allen is a big back that is likely to work well in tandem with D.J. Morgan and Dillon Baxter in the future. After T.J. Bryant and Jawanza Starling he is also the third signee to come to the Trojans in four years. USC missed out on Branden Jackson, a linebacker from McKeesport, Pennsylvania/McKeesport and Delvon Simmons, the defensive tackle also from McKeesport, Pennsylvania/McKeesport who chose Georgia Tech and North Carolina respectively. The Trojans also lost out on Kent Turene, linebacker of Lauderdale Lakes, Florida/Andersen and Troy Niklas, tight end/defensive end of Anaheim, California/Servite © 2011 eScoutRoom.com |
