Ohio State 2021 Football Class

Ohio State closed on its 2021 football recruiting class this week by having 21 players sign letters of intent during the early signing period. This is Ryan Day’s first class that he recruited from start to finish. One additional player has yet to sign, JT Tuimoloau, the second best strong side defensive end in the country. Tuimoloau is waiting until the late signing period February 3rd. The class is ranked 2nd in the country behind Alabama and the best in the Big Ten conference.

QB Kyle McCord – An early commit, 5 star player, helped recruit many of the offensive players in the class. Played with Marvin Harrison Jr at St Joseph’s.

RB TreVeyon Henderson – The first 5 star running back at Ohio State since Beanie Wells, could get early playing time next season with McCall and Sermon graduating.

RB Evan Pryor – Did not play his senior season due to the pandemic but had over 2,500 yards with 24 touchdowns as a junior.

WR Emeka Egbuka – The top wide receiver in the country and third in row to select Ohio State after Julian Fleming (2020) and Garrett Wilson (2019). Ohio State is sick with receiver talent.

WR Jayden Ballard – A really good Ohio receiver from Massillon with 573 yards as a senior and 7 touchdowns. Ranked the 8th best wide receiver nationally.

WR Marvin Harrison Jr – The son of former NFL receiver Marvin Harrison. Had over 2500 yards and 37 touchdowns on a top ranked high school team that earned three state titles.

TE Sam Hart – From Colorado Cherokee Trail, considered the 15th best tight end in the country.

OT Ben Christman – Sixth best offensive guard for 2021 nationally and was a Division II All-Ohio pick.

OL Donovan Jackson – Could play left tackle, or any position on the line at Ohio State. Rated as the number one guard across the country and could play early for the Buckeyes.

OL Zen Michalski – A little bit of a late pick-up for the team, considered a tackle prospect who converted from a tight-end.

SDE Jack Sawyer – The first to commit in the class, a 5 star recruit from Pickerington North, is looking forward to working with Larry Johnson more and continuing on the legacy of the Bosa brothers and Chase Young.

DT Tyleik Williams – 12th best defensive tackle, like many, did not get to play as a Senior because of Covid-19 concerns. Plans to enroll in the Winter and get started early on his college career.

DT Mike Hall – Another Ohio prospect considered one of the best nationally, ranked as the 4th best defensive tackle.

LB Reid Carrico – As a junior he had 168 tackles, 1 interception, and 3 sacks. The countries 5th best inside linebacker, he is coming in early with many of his classmates.

DB Jordan Hancock - One of the top two cornerbacks in the class, a top 100 recruit, helps Coombs shore up a much need position going into 2021.

DB Jakailin Johnson – A top 100 recruit at cornerback, could get a look early with Shawn Wade going to the NFL.

DB Jantzen Dunn – From a really good program in Kentucky, his father played basketball for Miami of Florida. The 12th best safety nationally.

DB Andre Turrentine – The 9th best safety in the country, also played wide receiver at Nashville Ensworth.

DB Denzel Burke – The 8th highest ranked athlete in the country. Is coming to Ohio State in the Winter to enroll.

DB Jaylen Johnson – Cincinnati LaSalle safety, the 29th best in the country. Had 55 tackles this year after getting 61 as a Junior.

P Jesse Mirco – Australian punter similar to Cameron Johnston who takes over right away.
