Do you remember the Manvel team- that finished with a record of 13-1? The team that only allowed 19 points / a game? Who was the anchor behind the team? Well, that was one Justin Medlock. He is a tackling machine and was the only player of the Maverick squad that finished with more than 100 tackles. Also, he recorded two fumble recoveries, defended five passes, and three and a half sacks. The linebacker from Manvel Texas is one of the top prospect in the country for 2022.

The amateur athlete recently visited the UT campus, and while he was there, he received an incredible offer. The 6'1'' 200-pound linebacker has a growing list of scholarship offers. These include Oregon, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Baylor, TCU, Ohio State, and Washington. Also, of course the OSU Buckeyes gave the athlete a scholarship offer that he finds the most attractive of them all.

Features of Justin Medlock

Medlock is being recruited by Al Washington for Ohio State. In 2019 as a sophomore he was first-team all-district and is a great athlete coming from a family of athletes. His father played for Texas A&M and his brother, Jayce, is a tight-end at Connecticut.

One of the greatest strides that Medlock has made in his career is being versatile. The versatility of playing various linebacker positions is an element that has put him at par with the other top talents in the country. That is why, according to 247Sports, he's ranked at No. 8 inside linebacker in the class of 2022.

With the great height of 6-foot-1, and the weight of 210 pounds, time is on the side of the rising junior; hence, he has room to add muscle. Staying in shape is also not a worrying issue since the youngster works out three days a week.

Ohio State 2022 football class

Ohio State football projects to be one program in the country with multiple top commits in its 2022 class. According to the rankings, the class is No. 2 behind LSU. In April, Jyaire Brown, the defensive back, was the first player to join the class. The class has 5 players rated at four stars or above with linebacker Dasan McCullough, and offensive tackle Tegra Tshabola being some of the best.

Bottom line

According to media, Ohio state's 2022 class already has five verbal commits including ATH/LB C.J Hicks, CB Jyaire Brown, and OT Tegra Tshabola. Their coach Al Washington is keen on another key player to improve the spine of the team. There would be no other person in the market who can do the business apart from Justin Medlock; the person has all the tools. All he needs is good coaching, the right environment, and the right group of players. Ohio State should do what it can to secure this asset.
