Keita Bates-Diop Joins The Ohio State Basketball Team

Keita Bates-Diop has decided to join Thad Matta and the Ohio State Basketball team. Last Sunday, Keita Bates Diop verbally committed to play Ohio State basketball. He is 6 foot 7, making him one of the tallest players on the team."I have great trust with the coaches and their staff. I feel really comfortable with how the situation is going," Keita told Rivals.com. "The academics are also of importance."

Being a Rivals.com 4 star recruit for 2014, Bates-Diop remains a serious pickup for Buckeyes. In other words, he will more than likely fill the role of sophomore small forward LaQuinton Ross. This could happen as early as 2014 when he first enrolls.

His ability to dunk along with his extreme versatility makes him one of the best coming out of high school nationally in 2014. In addition, his defensive abilities ensure that he is able to play early when he arrives on campus in Columbus.

The first official commit for the 2014 class was Bates-Diop. He chose Buckeyes over many other schools ranging from Michigan State to Purdue and included most of the Big 10 conference.

With all the rumors saying that there was going to be a big decision in the fall, the timing of Bates-Diop's decision does not come as a surprise.
