Henry Not Welcome in
Cincy
Former Bengals receiver Chris Henry applied for
reinstatement with the league and met with commissioner Goodell this week after
the charges against him were dropped. Henry was released because of the assault
charge leveled against, but now that the charges proved false he wouldn’t mind
joining back up with his old team.
Marvin Says No
Although Henry wants to come back
his old head coach, Marvin Lewis has decided to pass on the talented but
troubled receiver. This is a good move by Marvin; the Bengals should have paid
more attention before they drafted this Chris Henry.
Will Henry get a
Third Chance?
Henry had a rap sheet as long your
arm coming out of WVU and was off many teams draft boards. The Bengals should
have passed, instead they let this guy run wild and he was arrested five times
after he joined the team and Goodell suspended him for eight games last year.
The Bengals cannot afford to take
the risk or bringing Henry back. He is a very good player, but the Bengals
already have a reputation as a team of thugs. Marvin should have been trying to
clean up this team a long time ago.
