Mickey Mitchell is a 6'8", 240 lbs. combo forward with legitimate ball handling skills and the athleticism to finish above the rim. Mickey is only a high school junior so he still has plenty of time to get bigger and stronger before he joins the competitive ranks of division 1A college basketball. The young man is also a high school football star, an attribute he undoubtedly inherited from his father. No doubt Ohio State Football Head Coach Urban Meyer will try to convince the young man to continue his football career though it it's highly doubtful that he will. Mickey tore his ACL last year and it's rumored that he will be concentrating solely on basketball from now on.
Mickey is an excellent passer and he actually played quarterback in high school. This combined with his impressive size and ball handling have made him a five star recruit, rated 20th overall in his recruiting class. Once both of the Mitchell brother's are on the hardwood together, Ohio State should be very dominant in the Big Ten. Perhaps the two brothers can provide the Buckeyes with another opportunity to play for a National Championship of Basketball.
