Phelps Rises to Challenge

This week Michael Phelps accomplished something no other athlete has ever accomplished. He won 8 gold medals in a single Olympics. He now has 14 Gold medals overall, 3 more than anyone in history.

Phelps Overshadows China

    When China won the right to host these games they hoped to use them as propaganda to “show off” their country and their government. They expected China to be the biggest story of these Olympics but they didn’t count on an athlete from Baltimore turning China into his ultimate showplace. Phelps has knocked China off the front page and become the story of these games.

Can He Do It Again?

    Phelps has become one of the greatest athletes the world has ever seen. It is not just his natural ability or his strict training regime that has allowed him to accomplish his goals. Instead it is his incredible drive and at the age of 23. And He still has many good years ahead of him. It is natural to ask the question, can he do it in London? I think he could if he wanted to.
