Jonathan Cooper became an early commit for the Ohio State Buckeye 2016 recruiting class this weekend when he joined a growing class of 4. The outside linebacker from Lincoln Gahanna is considered the 8th best in the country according to Scout.com and a four star prospect. He could play defensive end at OSU if not Linebacker. Committed to the Buckeyes at the Rutgers game but waited until his season ended to make the announcement.
Cooper is a high motor player that keeps playing the entire game. A great pass rusher with speed and athleticism. Similar to current linebacker Josh Perry or defensive Noah Spence. Other schools that pursued him included Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, and Notre Dame. Scouts feel that the 6’3” 215 pound Cooper will succeed at the next level in either position that he is picked for.
He grew up a Buckeye fan in the Suburb of Columbus.
