What Wide Receiver Alex Stump Brings To Ohio State

AlexStump

Alex Stump switched his commitment from Kentucky to Ohio State last Sunday. Stump is the kind of outside receiver that Urban Meyer has been trying to pick up ever since he came to the Buckeyes. He offers great size and speed, coming from a perennial power house in Lakewood St Edwards. His hands make him a great possession receiver similar to other in state receivers the Buckeyes have seen in the past. Brian Hartline and Dane Sanzenbacher are examples of players that are similar to Stump.

He has had a recent set back with surgery required to repair ligaments that tore in his foot. Stump was considering coming to college early and competing for playing time but now will miss the rest of his senior season. He will more than likely redshirt as a freshman with Meyer in 2015. Stump will be a part of a three member receiving class that currently also includes AJ Alexander from Lake Braddock Secondary in Burke Virginia. One more wide out will be added which could be Brian Cole, Van Jefferson, or Lawrence Cager.

Stump is an important recruit for the Buckeyes who hope to keep the best players from Ohio in Ohio. He becomes Ohio State’s 17th commitment for 2015.
