Apparently, Lonnie Johnson wanted to be part of the OSU Buckeyes for quite some time. He made his decision back in October even though his recruiting process took awhile. The commitment makes him a virtual lock to sign with the Buckeyes in a few months. When he announced his decision, he noted the overall success of the Ohio State football program as a deciding factor.
Plans call for Lonnie Johnson to remain a wide receiver at OSU. Then again, he could play a variety of different defensive positions. Ohio State football can benefit from his talents in various ways. The school's 2014 recruiting class already looks stacked with months to go before recruiting ends. With that in mind, the school could add plenty of other powerhouse players.
In the end, Ohio State University looks like it's only going to get better in the future. Lonnie Johnson and other incoming recruits will make victories more and more likely. There is no reason to think that Johnson can't play at the collegiate level. Over the next few seasons, we'll see whether he can become a star with NFL-caliber potential. Only time will tell for that opportunity, though.
