Ohio State Football: Sam Hubbard Offers Commitment To Buckeyes

According to Doug Lesmerises of The Cleveland Plain Dealer and numerous recruiting websites, Sam Hubbard has offered his commitment to the Buckeyes for the Ohio State Football. He later confirmed this oral commitment through an announcement on Twitter last Friday night. The Four Star recruit withdrew his commitment to play for the University of Notre Dame, where he had previously offered his commitment to be a part of the Fighting Irish's NCAA lacrosse team. His decision not to continue with Notre Dame can be linked to the numerous offers the 6'66 Cincinnati safety has received from schools like Stanford, Michigan State, Miami, and Louisville. The 247Sports.com reports that he has received more than 10 offers for scholarship since February 26.

Unofficially visiting Ohio State campus, Hubbard immediately gave his word to join the Buckeyes, a decision he made public on Twitter. The No. 32 on Rivals.com's list of outside linebackers thus becomes the 6th member of Ohio State's 2014 class, and will join ranks with 4-star offensive Marcelys Jones on the front, Damon Webb playing at the cornerback and 4 star Kyle Trout playing the offensive tackle. The 4-star Parris Campbell and defensive end, Dylan Thompson (a 3-star), will be part of the team.

Hubbard has most recently played safety in high school, a position he projects he would be leaving for either a linebacker or a defensive end in his college team. Due to his versatility and agility, the 4-star Hubbard was able to rack up 80 defensive tackles, interceptions and forced fumbles while playing for the Moeller High School.

Hubbard's decision to join Buckeyes has made great news for fans of Ohio State Football with numerous speculations regarding his future football career, but for the 6-foot-6, 233-pounder kid, it is a dream come true according to his statement on Twitter. Talking to ESPN.com's Buckeye Nation this week, he said that his decision to join Ohio State was made since January of his sophomore year and that he hadn't really given much thought to football at that time.
