Canton GlenOak RB Brionte Dunn Looks Around
With Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel retiring/resigning in late May 2011, one of the top recruits in his 2012 class began to look around at other programs. Canton GlenOak running back Brionte Dunn is still committed to Ohio State but has taken visits to Michigan and Penn State. At 6’2” 215 lbs, he has great size and speed that reminds many of Chris ‘Beanie’ Wells who excelled in his time at Ohio State at tailback.
Visiting Michigan for their annual UM BBQ weekend, Dunn had a good time in Ann Arbor with his family. Shortly after returning from Michigan, Dunn did hear that the NCAA was close to clearing OSU and accepting their self imposed sanctions that have already been levied. This eased the mind of Dunn and other recruits that have stayed with the program. The following weekend he travelled to Penn State but remained verbally committed to Ohio State after both visits.
Upper Arlington wide received recruit Frank Epitopoulos has done a nice job of staying in touch with Dunn during the Ohio State NCAA troubles and has relayed positive information to him that has kept him committed to the Buckeyes. They mostly communicate through Facebook.
Dunn hopes his team with get to and win the state title this year with the added possibility of personally reaching the most rushing yards in Stark County football history. Dunn joins Warren Ball as tailbacks in the 2012 class that should come in and add depth to a group of running backs in Columbus that have handled kick-offs in addition to the running back position.
