Kicker Will Hagerup Commits to Michigan

Wisconsin kicker Will Hagerup selected the University of Michigan as his college after visits to Ohio State, Wisconsin, Florida and Michigan. The US Army All American was impressed with his visit to Ann Arbor and liked the depth chart at Michigan over the other programs.

Hagerup plans to be the primary punter when he arrives on campus in 2010. During his recent official visit he felt comfortable with the coaching staff and liked what he saw in the business school. Ohio State was also an important recruiter for him but they currently have a commitment from Chillicothe Ohio kicker Drew Basil and also a young punter on the team in Ben Buchanan. He visited the Buckeyes when they played USC on September 12th.

He felt the improved performance of the Michigan team this season and the way the current members of the team relate to Rich Rodriguez were important in his selection of the Wolverines. He sees himself being the starting punter next season as current punter Zoltan Mesko is a fifth year senior and will be graduating. Hagerup is currently rated the 4th best punter in the country.
