Dwayne Haskins on Ohio State Commitment

Maryland 2016 quarterback prospect Dwayne Haskins feels that his commitment to Ohio State this weekend is a dream come true. Haskins is considered one of the best pro-style QBs in the country. He kept is commitment quiet for around a month but let the coaches at OSU know he was coming when he made an official visit in December.

He favored the Buckeyes early and a lot of experts thought for sure he was heading there. Ohio State picked Tristen Wallace as their quarterback for 2016 until Wallace decommitted and went to Oregon. While Ohio State was going in a different direction Haskins did also, verbally committing to Maryland. But now that national signing day is approaching, both Haskins and Ohio State are back together.

Haskins joins a team with quite a bit of quarterback talent already. JT Barrett returns for one more season with underclassmen Stephen Collier, Joe Burrow and Torrence Gibson all hoping to be the starter in 2017.

Haskins joins linebacker Keandre Jones (from Maryland) and wide receiver Binjimen Victor in new OSU 2016 verbals to commit over the weekend. The three highly rated players pushed Urban Meyer’s class into the top position nationally with only a couple of weeks before all the verbal commitments become signed.
