Coaching changes at the end of the year create opportunities for other programs to come in and recruit the school’s current class. Shortly after the firing of Bo Pelini by Nebraska, Mirko Jurkovic changed his commitment from the Cornhuskers to Ohio State and Urban Meyer. He is a 3 star offensive guard from Bradenton Florida and becomes the 5th member of the OSU 2015 recruiting class along the offensive line. Grant Schmidt, Kevin Feder, and and Branden Bowen are considered tackles while Jurkovic and Matthew Burrell are guards.

Jurkovic got a chance to visit Ohio State for their game against Michigan in early December and joined the class on the fourth, a couple of days after. On his visit he said that Columbus felt like home. He connected with the coaches, the players and the recruits that were at the game. He also found the environment and the game to be a great experience.

He is considered the 37th best guard in the country according to Scout.com. He had offers from Cincinnati, Florida, Maryland, Purdue and Tennessee, in addition to many others.
