2015 Cornerback Denzel Ward Tells Us About His Commitment to Ohio State

DenzelWard

Out of Nordonia High School in Macedonia Ohio, Denzel Ward is one of the top cornerbacks in the country and recently committed to play college football with Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeye football team. A physical corner that isn’t afraid to make a play on a running back. He can recover on a receiver and change direction without issue. Still a little light for college football but has plenty of time before he arrives in Columbus for the 2015 season.

We asked Ward about his ability on the football field. “I feel I'm a fast player who can change direction smoothly, and I feel I have pretty good instincts, and I'm explosive with the ball in my hands. I feel like I can make a play at any moment on the field.”

He enjoys the high school atmosphere in Macedonia. ”The highlight of my high school career is running out onto the field with my team at the beginning of the game.” He told us.

“What I like most about Ohio state is the coaches enthusiasm when coaching and the amount of talent they brought in to the team.” The OSU 2015 class is currently at 12 players and ranks 17th nationally according to Scout.com. Expect the ranking to improve as more players are added.

He was drawn to Ohio State by the coaching staff he explained to us. “In a college and football program I was looking for a group of college coaches who I feel I can spend the next four years happily playing for and a opportunity to play at the next level.”
