When Kids do Stupid Things

When Kids do Stupid Things

The LSU quarterback is gone and his career pretty much over in any meaningful way. Ryan Perrilloux had his share of legal and disciplinary problems during his two year stint at LSU and Coach Less Miles had finally had enough when he threw him off the team today.

Perrilloux “didn’t fulfill his obligation as an LSU student-athlete,” coach Les Miles said in a statement. “Ryan was given every opportunity to be a part of this football team.”

Perrilloux had the starting job next season rapped up in a bow with the national championship tigers provided he could avoid trouble, attend his classes, and not be too lazy with conditioning in the off-season. After all, he was the nation’s best quarterback recruit when he came out of East St. John High School in Louisiana two years ago.

But he ran a foul of the law and the authorities at LSU, being suspended three times for offenses including a bar fight and possibly using someone’s credit cards. Other alleged offenses include counterfeiting and trying to enter a casino with false identification.

So now LSU looks towards Jarrett Lee, Andrew Hatch or true freshman Jordan Jefferson to step up their play and produce wins this coming season. It’s sad when a great player like Perrilloux continues to do dumb things and ruins what would have been a great college career and draft selection into the NFL.
