Todd Sibley Leaves Ohio State And Commits To Pitt Panthers

Todd Sibley

Ohio high school star Todd Sibley this week used his twitter account to officially announce he has de-committed from the Ohio State program.

Just one year after leading his Ohio team to a state championship, he has chosen to join the Pittsburgh based Pitt Panthers for 2017.

His prep career has seen him already rush over 3,000 yards, adding to his junior high school tally of over 2,000 yards. He first came to major attention after a champion's performance at the Friday Night Lights camp last year.

It's no surprise that Sibley has committed to Pittsburgh. After all, it was only April that the Ohio State coaching team informed him that he was likely to have to gray-shirt - at least for the first semester. This after being a fully committed player the previous year.

2017 Ohio State Commit Brendon White Offers Tremendous Versatility

Brendon White

2017 Ohio State Commit Brendon White always wanted to play football for the Buckeyes. The school is literally in his blood, as his father, William White, played defensive back for the team. The only thing that is up in the air is where he will play.

Most high school recruits are lucky if they can handle one position in the college game, but White is such an amazing athlete that he can play a bunch. The early word is that White will play either wide receiver or outside linebacker at Ohio State. White prefers the former, but would have no problem shifting to the latter for more playing time. Buckeyes decision makers will not get a lot of information out of his final season at Olentangy Liberty High School, as he plays quarterback for that team. As of now, he is not slated for any defensive duties for the Patriots, though this could change in the future. 247Sports also lists White as the 13th ranked safety, indicating that he could probably play any position ably.

Antjuan Simmons

Antjuan Simmons plans to become an Ohio State Buckeye. His high school is located in close proximity to the Michigan Stadium, which is in Ann Arbor. Regardless of that fact, this talented 3-star linebacker made the decision to play football as a Buckeye. It appears that he is not concerned about the fact that Ohio is further away. He also did not appear to be swayed by the fact that his current high school is the same one that Michigan's football coach attended.

Antjuan Simmons used his Twitter account to announce his Ohio State University decision. In his tweet, he thanked the other schools making him offers, but announced that Ohio State University was his choice. (Ad: H&R Block Tax Filing Discounts at

Jahsen Wint Becomes Latest 2016 Recruit for Ohio State

Three star Safety Jahsen “ShowTime” Wint has committed to be a member of the 2016 recruiting class for Ohio State. From Erasmus High School in Brooklyn NY, Wint had planned to take all of his visits and then make a decision on his future. But plans changed on Saturday when Wint verbally committed to Urban Meyer and Ohio State. OSU was the one school that he did officially visit, and he loved everything about the program. He became the 18th member of a class that already ranks in the top 5 nationally.

Wint has his eyes set on making an impact right away with the news that several underclassmen defensive backs will be leaving for the NFL this spring (Tyvis Powell and Eli Apple). He also liked the focus of the team on winning the National Championship every year when he came to Columbus. A strong Senior year put Wint on the radar of many teams but having ex-teammate receiver Curtis Samuel already a member of the Buckeyes was helpful for the team. Chris Ash was also hoping to get Wint on his new team at Rutgers. He was also previously committed to Temple.

Meyer has turned out to be a tenacious recruiter. He always has his eyes on the talents needed to build a much better and stronger team to face a new season. Meyer and his staff never seem to show any sign of slowing down when discovering the great talents to make a better team.

The Ohio State football team has sealed a number of commitments from excellent talents this year. Recently, a five-star defensive end named Nick Bosa has given his verbal commitment to this team. The Buckeyes ambition does not end there, the team is still interesting in bringing in his duo, Jonathon Cooper.

Defensive tackle Antwuan Jackson and Brandon Burton have made their official visits to the Ohio State campus lately. Those visits convinced these two four-star players to sign. In addition, the Buckeyes have a great plan to land a five-star defensive tackle in Dexter Lawrence. When Lawrence finally does choose this ambitious football team, he can make a great combination along side Cooper and Bosa. However, there are still many rumors linking Lawrence with Clemson and The Florida State football team. Meyer also has his eyes on Binjimen Victor but the Buckeyes have to compete against many other teams like Tennessee, Florida and West Virginia to get the signature of this five-star player. One thing for sure, getting quality signings for the team will come with plenty of challenges to the coaching staff.

Ohio State Buckeye Basketball Recruiting and Its 2016 Promises

Washington Wizards v/s Philadelphia 76ers November 23, 2010

Thad Matta has been in charge for the Ohio state basketball team since 2006. The OSU basketball head coach had impressed us with his Thad Five where he decided to use the services of five high-profile recruits including Mike Conley, Greg Oden, David Lighty, Othello Hunter and Daequan Cook. Within almost ten years of time, Coach Matta is known as the winning-est coach in program history after presenting a number of successful seasons for the team as well as for the fans. This year, Matta is still pretty confident about his strategy as he has signed a number of new players that are believed to meet his expectations. This time, the head coach decided to fill his 2015 recruiting class with Daniel Giddens, JaQuan Lyle, A.J. Harris, Mickey Mitchell and Austin Grandstaff. This recruiting class has not come up with a nick name though.

Sticking with the same team he had last season is almost an impossible mission as he had lost a number of crucial player including D'Angelo Russle. Thad Matte soon realized that he had to make an immediate impact to the team by presenting a new wave of The Thad Five.
