Gator Commitment Changing Schools

Victor Hampton has been dismissed from the Charlotte, N.C. Independence High football team.  The Florida Gator signee hopeful is a rising senior who is ranked the No. 4 cornerback in the nation by rivals.com. He is considered one of Florida's oral commitments for 2010.

Hampton's high school coach, Tom Knotts, told the Charlotte Observer that Hampton was dismissed from the team on Tuesday morning. Knotts did not give a reason for the dismissal.

Hampton has at least one previous arrest, according to police records, Hampton has been arrested on one previous occasion. That occurred on July 3, 2008 where he was charged with a misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

Hampton told the Charlotte Observer he will move in with family friends and enroll at Darlington High in Darlington, near Columbia, S.C.
