Running Back Ability

Burton put up some very good numbers as a junior this past season and drew the attention of a number of schools and scouting networks with Rivals.com placing him in the 250 juniors to watch list. He told us about his running ability which sets him apart. "I have been told that my strongest attribute is that I can run. Cause I have played running back my whole life. But I also have amazing coaches that have helped me out a lot! So I'm real thankful to have them."

Burton also is very involved in ministry for his church and told us a little bit about it.  "The off the field highlight [for me] is giving my testimony at churches and getting people to know the Lord Jesus Christ. My on the field high light is probably winning districts this year and last year."

Impressive Season

The 6'3" 200lbs quarterback with 4.5 speed put up impressive numbers in 2008 surpassing the 2000 overall passing yard and 22 touchdowns he achieved in 2007. "[My stats for the year were] 1699 passing with 14 td's and over 1000 rushing with 30 td's."

Florida For Burton

Although he had three other scholarship offers early in the recruiting process, he took just one visit and knew where he wanted to play next year. "The only school that I have visited was Florida & Florida is the place to be." Burton really likes the coaching staff and the academics in Gainesville. "The things I love about Florida are the coaches and the fans. Coach Meyer is an awesome coach, and he is a good friend off the field. They just brought in a new QB coach that will help me out a lot! He is the best quarterbacks coach in the nation!  Plus academically they are very strong too.
