The Ohio State Buckeyes are currently preparing for the 2014 Big Ten Tournament after finishing the regular season with a 23-8 overall record, while going 10-8 in conference play. For their efforts, they were rewarded with the number 5 seed in the tournament.

Our estate will start off the tournament taking on the number 12 seed Purdue at 2:30 PM local time Thursday afternoon. They will be considered as an underdog in the tournament overall, at the top 4 seeds will be looking to be crowned champions at the end of the week. The top 4 seeds heading into the tournament are Wisconsin, Michigan, Nebraska and Michigan State. The entire tournament will be over a four-day period, as the 17th annual event will take place March 13th through the 16th at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, located in Indianapolis (home of the Indiana Pacers).

Michigan dominated Big Ten Basketball this season by winning their 1st outright title since 1986. They finished with a 15-3 record, and they are still in the running for a possible number 1 overall seed in the NCAA tournament the following week. Finishing 3 games back, Wisconsin and Michigan State were rewarded with the number 2 and number 3 seed respectively. Wisconsin received the number 2 seed because of the head-to-head results between the 2 schools. Nebraska snuck in as the number 4 seed by finishing 11-7 on the season in only their 2nd year of Big Ten Basketball.

Despite coming up with just a number 5 seed, the Ohio State Buckeyes still have high hopes for the rest of the season. They have a chance to not only make the NCAA tournament, but also make a deep run info season play. The Big Ten in general had a very good showing in the NCAA tournament a season ago. Michigan is looking to return to the championship game, while the other top schools look to survive and advance.
