Josh Moore: Ohio State Grab TE Commitment

Kansas tight end Josh Moore has become the latest player to be wooed by Urban Meyer, and has pledged to join Ohio State's impressive 2015 recruiting class.

Moore gave his verbal commitment to the scarlet and gray at the school's Friday Night Lights event, confirming reports in recruiting circles that he was a long time Buckeyes lean. He was seen speaking at length with head coach Urban Meyer early on in the camp, and Tim May of the Columbus Dispatch later confirmed that Moore had taken the step of verbally committing to the program.

A resident of Olathe, Kansas, Moore is rated a three star prospect by recruiting services. 247Sports rank him as the sixth best player out of the Sunflower State, the 751st player in the nation overall and the 22nd overall tight end. He stands an impressive 6ft 5in tall and weighs 250 pounds, but most pundits agree that he has yet to scratch the surface of his tremendous physical potential. Moore's journey to football stardom has not been an easy one either. He was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor at the age of 8, but successfully defeated the illness with the help of radiation treatment.

Moore's pledge provides some much needed clarity at the position in Columbus. Fellow tight end and current Kentucky Wildcats commit CJ Conrad was also present at the Friday Night Lights event, but has yet to receive an offer for the 2015 class. In the crop of 2016 tight ends, Jake Hausmann and Luke Farrell have been considered likely Buckeye targets, but Moore's commitment means that it's now unlikely that both will be pursued by the Buckeyes coaching staff.
