We recently spoke with Joe Jones, a 2013 defensive end from Hollywood Florida Chaminade Madonna. Rivals.com rates him a 2 star recruit for the 2013 class. The 6’4” 232 lbs. defensive line player has offers from Idaho and UTSA where Eric Roark has been recruiting him. We will have to see if he is able to get on a team prior to the beginning of the 2013 season in the fall.

We began by asking Jones what are the skills that set him apart on the field and what were the highlights of his high school career. “My best attributes are my size, speed coming off the edge and my knowledge of the game. I've learned so much in 2 years its scary. The highlight of my high school career was a game against Glades Day and all-world running back Kevin Taylor who is a UF commit, I had 17 tackles that game.”

That must have been a great experience, have you spoken with Taylor since the game? “He found me after the  game and told me I was a great player and he wouldn’t mind playing with me on the next level.”

We asked him about his college prospects. “I’m looking for a stable coaching staff on the next level a staff that can groom me to become a great player and someday help me get to my goal of one day playing in the NFL.” He explained to us.

“On the academic side of things I’m looking for a strong business program at the college of my choice, I also want to minor in Education or Criminal Justice.” he further expanded on his college selection process when we interviewed him.

As far as official visits to colleges? “I’ve been to Clemson, FSU and University of Miami unofficially. I plan to officially visit Ole Miss, Buffalo and 3 other schools.“ What does he like the most about the schools that have shown interest. “What I like the most about my favorite colleges are that they have strong Alumni and great academic supporting staffs.”
